I visited this castle in 2009.
Lianne Castle, locally known as Château des Lianne, lies in a field near the village of
Beaurainville, west of the town of Hesdin in the Pas-de-Calais department in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais
region in France.
Lianne Castle is said to date back to the 14th century. It bears the name of one of its former owners;
Enguerrand de Lianne, who had married the last heiress of a very old local family; Tassette
Collet, in 1280. De Lianne was one of the 12 Barons of Boulogne.
At present the only remains of the rectangular keep are two wall parts built out of local stone with
silex blocks in a checkerwork pattern at the base. The site of Lianne Castle was probably damaged by
the building of the railway line next to it, some hundred years ago.
This is a nice forgotten castle ruin.
