Oedenbourg Castle lies west of the village of  Scherwiller in the Bas-Rhin province in France. This area is also known as the Northern Alsace or the Middle Vosges.

200 Meters west of the well known Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle, stands the ruin of Oedenbourg Castle on the western end of the Staufen mountain. Part of the keep, with an embossed wall, is very different than the other masonry, which indicates its construction around 1200. The rest of the castle dates back to the second half of the 13th century. In 1417 the castle is mentioned as: "Der oden burg zu Kungsberg", which translates to "The abandoned castle of Koenigsbourg". The living quarters have a curtain wall protecting it from attacks from the east. The keep is more to the west, separated from the living quarters by a courtyard with a cistern.

A small ruin close to the already mentioned Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle. Access of the castle is prohibited and even the pathway to the ruin is recently closed due to minor landslides.
