I visited this castle in 2009.
Plessis-de-Roye Castle, locally known as Château de Plessis-de-Roye, lies in the village of
Plessis-de-Roye, west of the town of Noyon in the Oise department in the Picardy region in France. The
castle and the village are sometimes also called Plessier-de-Roye but I could not find out why.
The castle is a Renaissance castle which is said to date back to the 15th century. Its appearrance
reminds me somewhat of Blérancourt Castle, some 30 kilometers to the east.
I could not find any information at all about this castle other than that is was destroyed during heavy
fighting in 1917 between French and German troops. If you know more, please let me know.
The castle seems to be private property and can not be visited.
