Salterstown Castle lies near the western shore of Lough Neagh, south of the village of Ballyronan, in County Derry, in Northern Ireland.

Salterstown Castle was built in 1613 by the "The Worshipful Company of Salters", a trade guild based in London. It was built as a 2-storey house with a bawn with 2 circular flankers, on land granted to them during the Plantation.

In 1641 it was captured and destroyed by Phelim O'Neill. Around 1740 it was owned by the McMaster family.

At present the ruin of Salterstown Castle is incorporated in an array of farm buildings. I could not detect any remains of the bawn nor the flankers.

The farm is of course private property so the castle can not be visited but it can be viewed from the public road.
