Kisiskhevi Castle

Kisiskhevi Castle lies next to the village of the same name, in the Telavi municipality in the Kakheti region in Georgia.

Kisiskhevi Castle was built somewhere between the 16th and 18th century. Because of its proximity to a present bridge over the Kisiskhevi River, I suspect it was meant to guard a historical crossing point over the river. I don't have any historical information about it. If you know anything; please mail me.

The castle has a rectangular ground plan, probably had 3 floors and has buttressed corners.

At present Kisiskhevi Castle is freely accessible. A nice small tower house ruin although a bit derelict.
