Masafi Fort

Masafi Fort lies in the town of the same name, in the Al Hajar mountain range, in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates.

I could not find any historical information about the fort. If you know anything, please mail me.

I think Masafi Fort was built somewhere during the 19th century. Probably protecting an oasis on the route connecting the east side and the west side of the Al Hajar Mountains. On the grounds of the fort are also remains of an ancient underground water system.

At present Masafi Fort is freely accessible during daytime, although you will have to sign the guestbook of the guard. The fort is signposted but the last stretches of road leading up to it are unpaved. There isn't any information at the fort and its interior spaces are bare. But still a nice little fort.
