So, you're interested in the man behind this all?
Well, here's all you need to know and more!
My name is Marko. I'm 43 years old; a real Dutch "cheese-head".
I live in a town near the city of Rotterdam in a nice little house, dating back to the 16th century, at a harbor.
I am employed by the Rotterdam
Police Force. When 2002 began, after 11 years of patrolling the streets of this great harbor city,
I took off my uniform and I am since working as a police-detective.
Furthermore, I love driving around on my motorbike. It's a red Yamaha
Diversion XJ 900 S. I've went on vacation with it to Luxembourg (1997), to Scotland (1998) and to Spain
in 2002. I try to drive all-year round but the last years I have become a fair weather driver, sadly enough.
If you don't drive a motorbike, I advise you to get your license and get one, because driving a
motorbike is very relaxing and liberating! When you're driving you really lose all your stress. It's
just pure fun! And there are all kind of advantages as opposed to a car; no more worries about parking
space and you'll be laughing when you drive through traffic-jams.

As you could have guessed I like history, so my other form of
transportation is an oldtimer; a black 1971 Mercedes 200. I just love cruising with my Benz!

Below are some questions people asked me about this website:
Will you add our castle to your site?
Well, as I said earlier; I only add castles which I've visited myself. And I only visit the ones that
interest me. Also travel takes time and money, but if you would like to pay for my journey and stay,
who knows!
You must really love castles!
Is it that obvious?
Can I use your pictures for this reason or another?
No problem, if you just ask and provide a link back to my site.
Why is the entire site in English and not in Dutch?
I choose English because I think that more people can enjoy the site this way and I thought that most Dutch
people who use the internet understand English. When I started I decided to make a Dutch version in the
future, but the site has grown too big for that now.
Do you know everything about castles?
Well, no. I know a lot but certainly not everything. But if you have a question, do ask! I always like to
help other castle fans and will try to answer as good as I can.
