Montfort Castle

Montfort Castle, locally known as Château de Montfort, is situated near the village of Remilly-sur-Lozon, in the Manche department in France.

Montfort Castle was built, in Renaissance style, at the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century.

It was once owned by the Le Marquetel family. It also was the cradle of Charles de Saint-Evremont, a 17th century writer, precursor of the philosophers, who died in England while in exile.

This was all the historical info I was able to find about this nice castle. So if anyone knows more, please mail me!

The castle can only be visited during the summer months for a small fee. It was restored from the 1980s until now by volunteers.
