- the two separate parts (Mot's Castle Page and Mot's European Castle Page) were combined.
- several new sections were added with fortifications in Syria, Ghana, the Dutch Antilles and Cuba.
So now this revamping is done, I will finally have time to add more new castles and other fortifications!

Ireland I took recently. The Dutch castles are:

Again it's been some time since the last update so here's a fairly large one. Even with two new
Dutch castles:
Kuinre Castle and
Toutenburg Castle. And also some new
pictures here and there.
Furthermore one new German castle; Hülsede Castle, and two new Slovenian castles; Hrastovlje and
Socerb on the European part of the site.
I've still got to find the time to make pages about several other castles from The Netherlands,
Austria, Italy, Germany, Slovenia and even Syria! So please be patient; it may take a while but
it'll certainly be worth it.

Well, it's been a long time since I've made some updates. A lot has happened so I won't bore you with the
details, only that I had to change my ISP, among other things. I guarantee there will be some more updates
in the Dutch ánd European sections in the near future. But for now I've only added 1 Austrian castle to
Mot's European Castle Page.

A happy New Year to you all! A milestone has been reached; there are now over 50(!) Dutch castles on this site!
Because in this update, finally some new Dutch castles are added;
Kessel Castle,
Nijenborgh Castle and
Schaesberg Castle.
I also opened a new section called Lost Castles. This is
about castles of which no traces have been left, apart from images made by contemporary artists. There are
now pages about 2 "lost" castles;
Saeftinge Castle and
Sluis Castle.

I have returned from Spain and am very busy scanning the pics and creating the
pages. It may take some time before all of them are finished because I
visited over 30 castles and I'm also busy to revamp the European section. But
there are 9 new castles that are already finished. To see them

Well, this ia a real mega update; 5 new castles in the Dutch section and 14(!) in
the European section, after a long weekend in which I visited the Alsace region in
France. Also this'll probably be the last update for a couple of months due to the
fact that, in August, I'm going on a month long motorbike holiday to inner Spain
for some serious castle hunting! So the new Dutch castles are:
Montfoort Castle,
Ravesteyn Castle,
Kinkelenburg Castle,
Doornenburg Castle and
Bergh Castle.

Also the country map page and
the alphabetical list page were taken into use together
with this update page and the separate rings and awards page.
Furthermore I've removed all the entrance fees on the castle pages. They were all still in the old
Dutch currency; the guilder instead of the euro. I couldn't convert them because most prices have been
raised and were rounded up by most institutions together with the introduction of the euro on January 1,
2002.
