Saham Fort

Saham Fort lies in the quiet fishing village of the same name, in the Al Batinah North Governorate in Oman. 

Saham Fort has a square ground plan with 4 square towers at its corners. Inside the fort there is a small 'masjid' (mosque). Its gate is directed at the sea front and would have been right at the beach in older times.

I wasn't able to find any historical information about Saham Fort. If you know anything, please mail me.

At present Saham Fort can be visited for free during opening hours. What these hours are, I don't know. I was told that a lot of castles in Oman, if they are open for visits, open at 9 AM and close at 2.30 or 4 PM.  A very nice fort.
