Akhaldaba Tower

Akhaldaba Tower stands in the village of the same name, in the Borjomi municipality in the Samtskhe–Javakheti region in Georgia.

This ruined circular watch tower stands on the right bank of the Kura River (called the Mtkvari in Georgia). I think it was an outpost of Akhaldaba Castle which was situated on the mountain south of the village. It probably dates back to the 17th/18th century.

At present Akhaldaba Tower can freely be visited. A simple tower ruin but on a nice location.
