Aspindza Castle

Aspindza Castle lies in the village of the same name, in the Aspindza municipality in the Samtskhe–Javakheti region in Georgia.

I was not able to find any historical information about Aspindza Castle. If you know anything; please mail me.

The castle was built on a rocky promontory jutting out into the valley of the Kura River (called the Mtkvari in Georgia). It has a sort of rectangular ground plan with a square tower facing the mountain. A slender second tower abuts the northern curtain wall. I have no idea of its function.

At present Aspindza Castle is freely accessible. A nice little village castle.
