Ballindoney Castle

Ballindoney Castle lies in the townland of Ballindoney West, in County Tipperary, in Ireland.
This tower house was first mentioned in 1547. According to a Civil Survey from 1655, the castle of "Ballendonney" was the property of a Richard Butler of Kilkash, Esquire and Irish Papist, in 1640. That is all the historical information I was able to find. If you know more, please mail me.
It is a beautiful example of a 16th century tower house with a lot of great architectural details.
Ballindoney Castle is situated on the premises of a farm, so it can not be visited. A mighty tower house.
