Châtelet-Haut Castle
Châtelet-Haut Castle, locally known as Château de Châtelet-Haut, lies in a small forest in the hamlet of Le Châtelet-sur-Sormonne, in the Ardennes department in France.
I could not find any historical information about Châtelet-Haut Castle. So if you know anything, please mail me.
I think it was the main medieval fortification of Châtelet-sur-Sormonne. It probably was connected to nearby Daudece Tower which is situated on a less elevated position in the valley, on a cliff next to a bend in the Sormonne river. Or maybe it was built after the castle of which Daudece Tower was probably a part was destroyed in 1426.
The ruin of Châtelet-Haut Castle stands on private land and thus can not be visited. A very nice ruin.
