Froidcour Castle

Froidcour Castle is situated between the villages of Stoumont and La Gleize, in the province of Liège in the Wallonia region in Belgium.
The first castle at this site was built during medieval times to defend the valley of the Amblève River. Around 1600, it was replaced by another called Chateau de Salm. This castle was demolished at the start of the 20th century.
So, Froidcour Castle may look medieval, but appearances can be deceiving. In reality, the castle was built in a neo-medieval style between 1912 and 1919 by Charles-Albert de Harenne, the mayor of Stoumont.
Currently, Froidcour Castle remains privately owned by the De Harenne family, and although the castle itself cannot be visited, you can stay in a large guesthouse next to the castle or in a room within one of the towers.
