Glebe Castle

Glebe Castle lies in the town of Rathkeale, in County Limerick, in Ireland.
I was not able to find any historical information about this castle, other than that in the 19th century it was a residence of the Rathkeale clergy. Its name; "Glebe", also points to it being an ecclesiastical property, as a 'glebe' is normally an area of land within a parish used to support a parish priest.
Glebe Castle is a 4-storey, square tower house. It stands in a field, near a bend in the River Deel. I suspect it dates back to around the 16th century.
At present, Glebe Castle is situated on the premises of a private residence and thus can not be visited. I was kindly allowed a walk around it by the daughter of the house. Not very interesting and in a sad, dilapidated state. The more captivating Castle Matrix is just a 5-minute ride away.
