Al Khabourah Castle

Al Khabourah Castle, sometimes also spelled as Khaburah, lies in the coastal town of Al Khaburah, in the Al Batinah North Governorate in Oman.

I was not able to find any historical information about this castle at all. If you know anything; please mail me. I only read that it always had been more of an administrative center than a military site.

The castle has a rectangular ground plan with no corner towers on the seaward side and a round and a square corner tower on the landward side.

At present Al Khabourah Castle can freely be visited during opening hours. A nice, simple castle.
