Al Kharmooh Tower

Al Kharmooh Tower stands in the town of Quriyat, which is also sometimes spelled as Qurayyat, in the Muscat Governorate in Oman.

The tower was built on a small rock jutting out of a sand dune and most probably served as a watch tower and a forward defense of the once walled town. It has a peculiar triangular shape, which I haven't seen anywhere else in Oman. It is one of 3 fortifications in this town, together with Al Sirah Tower on the coast and Quriyat Castle in the center of town.

Al Kharmooh Tower is freely accessible. A nice find.
