Limont Tower

The Limont Tower, locally known as Donjon de Limont, stands in the center of the village of Limont, in the province of Liège in the Wallonia region in Belgium. It is also known as the "Tour du Chevalier", which translates to the Knight's Tower.

Around 1150, the grounds of Limont Tower were purchased by Libert de Warfusée for his son, the knight Robert de Limont. Therefore, the tower likely dates back to the late 12th or early 13th century. That's all the historical information I could find. If you know more, please email me!

It is a tower house constructed from flint with limestone corners. It features a barrel-vaulted cellar and an entrance at the first-floor level. The tower is situated on private property of a house built against it, so it's not accessible. However, it is easily visible from the public road.

Currently, the Limont Tower is in a very ruinous condition. When I visited, the two people who gave me access were busy with some sort of consolidation work, I guess. And that is something the tower badly needs, or it will just fall apart.
