Ozhio Tower

Ozhio Tower stands in the fields west of the village of the same name, in the Akhmeta municipality in the Kakheti region in Georgia.

I guess that the tower dates back to the 17th/18th century and that it served to protect the small church next to it. This defensive round tower originally probably had 3 floors of which only 2 remain today. They are connected by a wall stair.

At present Ozhio Tower can freely be visited. A nice simple tower ruin.
