Philippe Tower

Philippe Tower

The Philippe Tower, locally known as Tour Philippe, stands in a field near the hamlet of Trémas in the Loire department in France.

Although this tower may look old, it is not. It was, in fact, built as a hunting lodge in neo-Gothic style in the 19th century. Who built it is unknown. Because of its appearance, it sometimes gets misinterpreted as a medieval watchtower.

The Philippe Tower is privately owned and can therefore not be visited. It is visible from the public road beside it. So, even though it is not a real historical structure, I like it a lot. It looks like an idyllic little hideaway.
