Salkhino Tower

Salkhino Tower stands next to the village of Vashlovani, in the Tetritskaro municipality in the Kvemo Kartli region in Georgia.

Salkhino Tower may look like a genuine defensive tower but it is not. It has never seen military action. On the contrary, the tower was built in 1811 by a Georgian aristocrat as a location to hold parties and banquets. It was given the appropriate name 'Salkhino', as that translates back to 'For Joy' in Georgian. Even so, it has a lot of defensive features and resembles the fortified towers built all around Georgia in the 17th-18th centuries.

At present Salkhino Tower has no use and is freely accessible. A very nice place to hold a feast, in my opinion.
