Žegar Tower

Žegar Tower

Žegar Tower, locally known as Žegarska Kula, lies in the hamlet of Kaštel Žegarski, in the county of Zadar in Croatia.

The tower is believed to date back to the Ottoman-Venetian Wars, which occurred between 1392 and 1718. I think the tower was likely built sometime during the 16th or 17th century. Who built it remains unknown. The village grew up next to the tower and was also named after it.

Žegar Tower is easily accessible. It's a simple but charming tower in a quiet village.
