Aswad Castle

Aswad Castle lies in the quiet and dusty village of the same name, in the foothills of the Al Hajar mountain range, in the Al Batinah North Governorate in Oman.

Aswad Castle has a rectangular ground plan with one round tower. Situated on the south side of the castle were excavated foundations of several structures. The castle looked as if it had been restored recently.

I wasn't able to find any historical information about Aswad Castle. If you know anything, please mail me.

When I visited the castle, it was closed. I don't know if it ever opens for visits. Too bad, I would have like to see its interior. A very nice castle.
