Castle Lishen

Castle Lishen lies in the townland of Castlelishon, in County Cork, in Ireland.

Originally, the castle was probably the seat of the Noonan or O'Hynowen family, but it was owned by the FitzGeralds until the 20th century. I was not able to find any more historical information about it. If you know anything, please mail me.

The castle now consists of a rectangular tower house, currently 3 stories tall, but it used to be higher.

Castle Lishen is situated on the premises of a private farmyard and thus can not be visited. A nice small ruin, although rather much overgrown.
