Red Fort

The Red Fort lies in the town of Al Manama, in the emirate of Ajman in the United Arab Emirates.

The Red Fort was built during the rule of Sheikh Humaid bin Abdulaziz Al Nuaimi, between 1910 and 1928 and was used as a royal residence. It first only had 2 towers. In 1986 it was restored and a 3rd tower was added. I don't know which kind of uses it has had after being a royal residence or will have. I have no more historical information about it. At present the Red Fort can not be visited as it is being renovated. I have seen older pictures of it and at that time the facades of all the structures did not have the outlook they have now, with the reddish stones and the thick gray joints, but just a simple red wash.
