Zanavi Castle

Zanavi Castle lies next to the hamlet of Patara Zanavi, in the Adigeni municipality in the Samtskhe–Javakheti region in Georgia.

Apart from the fact that Zanavi Castle dates back to the Middle Ages, I was not able to find any historical information about it. If you know anything; please mail me.

The castle was built on a rocky peak and has an irregular ground plan that follows the outline of the rock.

At present Zanavi Castle can freely be visited. It is however not possible to enter the ruin as the original entrance way has disappeared. A striking castle ruin.
